On Wednesday, May 1st, the Prince of the Eastern Region, His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, attended the meeting of the General Assembly of the Patients' Friends Committee 2019 with the presence of a large number of members of the Committee and the President and members of Asharqia Chamber and the General Secretariat, as well as a large number of businessmen in the Eastern Province, at the headquarter of the Chamber in Dammam.
His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, prince of the Eastern Province, praised the results of last year's work of the Assembly by saying, "We honor it as it is not surprising to all members of the General Assembly with their contribution and support."
He thanked Dr. Saleh Bin Ali, Director General of Health Affairs and Chairman of the Patients' Friends Committee, for his tireless work to ensure the success of the work of the Committee.
At the same time, he wished all the best to Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulkarim Arifi, the current Chairman of the Committee.
His Highness presented the ceremony, which was attended by Chamber President Abdul Hakim bin Hamad Al-Ammar Al-Khaldi and his deputies, Badr bin Sulaiman al-Rizayzah and Hamad bin Muhammad al-Buali with a number of Board members.
He sent his thanks and gratitude to all the members of the Committee as they are racing their generous support for the work of the Assembly and its activities in order to serve patients in the Eastern Region.
He called for continued support and development of the work of the Assembly.
He wished to establish new foundations for the continuation of the work of the Committee in accordance with the institutional approach.
He said that he had no doubt about the ability of the members of the Committee to follow the institutional approach with well-defined foundations that had a significant impact on the development of the Committee 's work and activities.
For his part, the Director General of Health Affairs in the Eastern Region, Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdul Karim Al Arifi, expressed his thanks and gratitude to HRH Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Prince of the Eastern Region, and HRH Prince Ahmed bin Fahad bin Salman, for their care and follow-up and their keen interest in all the work of the Committee and its activities and their continuous support to promote charitable and volunteer work in the region.
Al-Arifi said that since its establishment in 1405H (1985) in partnership between the General Directorate of Health Affairs and Asharqia Chamber, the Patients' Friends Committee was characterized by the multiplicity of services provided to the beneficiaries and touched by all those who benefited from them.
He pointed out that the Committee devoted its efforts to care for the needy patients in overcoming their social, psychological and health conditions and securing a decent life for them.
He added, "The Committee started with strong white hands from the people of the Eastern Region, who gave the Committee financial support during the last year 2018, which was estimated at 4 million and a half million riyals, which reflects their keenness to support the charitable and humanitarian work in the region."
They were able to enable them to achieve their goals by providing urgent medical equipment and supplies to hospitals and health centers, or to strengthen the patient's resolve and to push them back to the society again. They are healthy and able to continue their lives in a natural way.
He is aiming to complete the efforts to achieve the ambitions and aspirations of the Committee in the performance of its duties towards the needy patients of the region.
At the end of the meeting, His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, the Emir of the Eastern Region, presented a gift to His Highness the Director General of Health Affairs in the Eastern Region, Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulkarim Al-Arifi, with the presence of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Asharqia Chamber Abdul Hakim bin Hamad Al-Ammar Al-Khaldi.
He also honored Dr. Saleh Bin Ali, Director General of Health Affairs and Chairman of the Friends of Patients Committee, because of the efforts made by him that provided a valuable imprint on the work of the Committee during his leadership.
His Highness honored businessmen that are supporting the Committee, as well as a group of media professionals that support the programs and activities of the Committee in particular and Asharqia Chamber in general.
